How to live sustainably and save savvily
A useful blog demonstrating how you can be both green and saving some green all at the same time

Think about this... We can change the world around us by making simple daily decisions. That’s a powerful thought, right?

There are loads of things we can all do as individuals to reduce our carbon footprint and do our bit to save the planet. And it doesn’t have to cost the earth – here are just a few of the thrifty ways you can be an eco-warrior all while saving your hard earned cash.

Greener Clothing

With a never ending conveyer belt of new trends, it’s hard not to resist filling our wardrobes with all the very latest that the fast fashion world has to offer. But not only does this guilty pleasure leave a rather nasty mark on our bank balance, it also has a devastating impact on the environment. With clothes made to last a season (at most), it’s never long before we replace our most recent purchase with another equally impulsive one.

Embracing the eco-fashion mantra of ‘repair, reuse, re-fashion’, why not try and revamp your ‘old’ wardrobe or see what vintage jewels you can find in your local charity shop? You’ll be surprised with what you can find. For more crafty ideas on how to give your garments a second chance, head over to this page.

Greener Eating

A plate full of beige processed food might be the cheapest option, but eating green doesn’t have to bite into your budget.  When it comes to filling your trolley, stick to seasonal vegetables. Not only will they be fresher and (generally) less expensive but they’re a great deal better for the planet. Check out this page to see what’s in season right now.

Alternatively, if you’ve got a favourite vegetable, boost those green fingers and grow it yourself. If you don’t have a garden or outdoor area, why not plant some herbs on your windowsill? It will be the gift that keeps on giving!

Plastic-Free living

Rethink your morning brew and invest in a reusable cup! Many cafes now offer discounts for customers who bring their own mugs – a saving that’s bound to make your coffee taste that bit sweeter.

While you’re riding the plastic free wave, why not buy a reusable BPA free water bottle too? It’s a great way to tackle plastic pollution and keep those pounds in your pocket. Head over to this page for some plastic-free living inspo.

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the greenest of them all?

A clean face can often leave a grubby conscience. Many products are full of chemicals which are terrible for the environment. But with the beauty industry lifting the lid on eco-friendly products, it’s never been easier to swap your bathroom baddies for some sustainable alternatives. Check out this blog to discover more natural goodies that won’t break the bank. Now who said beauty couldn’t be green?
